Overview Edit

Dawn of war II is an RTS style game that is the 5th part of the Dawn of War series. It follows on from Dawn of War expansion, Soulstorm, though the single player campaign features a completely different style of play. The campaign incorporates RPG elements like leveling and item acquisition and outfitting. The game takes place in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, set in a war torn future.

Single Player Edit

Unlike its predecessor and its expansions, there is no base building and there is a more limited choice of units in DOW2's single player campaign. Rather than building a structures to produce units, you are able to select a limited number of squads to take on each mission. These squads include your Commander, Tactical Marines, Assault Marines, Devastator Marines, and Scout Marines. These squads are each lead by a character that can gain experience, level, and be equipped with War Gear prior to each mission.

Multiplayer Edit

There are four races to choose from: Space Marines, Eldar, Orks and Tyranids unlike soulstorm which had nine. The game involves either annihilating the enemy or capturing some certain number of points for a certain amount of time. To do this you create units, which often specialise in certain areas (e.g. shooting, assault). There is also a new survival mode, where (up to 3 characters to a game) can choose to play either as a ork, eldar, or space marine. Each race also comes with (and can equip) unique equipment.
